![]() My 27 year old daughter will spend this weekend celebrating the wedding of a friend she has known since the age of 2. They've been through it all together. When they met I was 31. Now I am 56. Not quite double - but close. And she is darn close to the age I was then. She posted this picture on her Facebook page, and said "it feels like just yesterday." And I agree it does. Yet as I think over the years in between, it also feels like about five lifetimes ago. Changes of career. Of relationships. Of geography. So much packed into such a short period of time. This is how I make peace with the swift passage of time. If I look back and feel like I wasted some of it (oh - I do wish I had majored in something different in college!) - then I will be disappointed. But if I am able to look back over that time and think "wow - look at how much happened!" then hopefully it will feel like time well spent. I cherish the memories of these girls when they were little. Sleepovers, graduations, trick or treating, and elementary school 'turkey trot's... all fun. And at the same time, I so value and appreciate the beautiful, intelligent women they have become. Blessings on your wedding, FCR. May it be a lifetime of beauty and love. And thank you to the rest of the family - Cami, Mike, and Mia - for taking Anna in as a part of your family, You have no idea how much it has meant to her, and to me. Live well. Cherish every moment. Love and gratitude, Mimi
